I did not know what to expect going into Cambodia, and we were definitely a bit weary as this was the last leg of our trip. Discovering Cambodia was filled with history, from the ancient temples of Angor Wat, which are just as impressive as they seem, to the harrowing Choeung Ek Genocidal Center, the killing fields outside of Phnom Penh. I am grateful to have learned so much during my time and Cambodia, and the conversations that I had learning from locals are some of the most meaningful ones that remain with me after my travels.
